Volunteer Application Form

We welcome your application to serve at Shellharbour Community Church! We believe serving is a beautiful expression of our love for God and His people, and that through our service the Holy Spirit is transforming us to become more like Jesus. When we serve, we partner with God to share his love and life with our church and city. What an awesome thing to be part of!

Filling out this form allows us to begin the induction process. Our induction process makes sure we have all the details we need from you, and you know what you need to know to make serving in our church a great experience. Because we value the safety of all our volunteers and congregation, online safety training is a key part of the process.

Team

Please note that in all child related roles you are required to hold a current Working With Children Check.

Rosters

If applicable, please note down any roster preferences including times you would like to be on a month, number of services a month or family members you would like to be rostered on with.

Team Code

This is the set of behavioural values for our staff, leaders and volunteers. We seek to bring people onto team who share these values and then continue to cultivate these values within the culture of all of our teams.

Spirit Led -We serve to please God not man. This means we seek to be led and empowered by the Spirit of God in all we do.

Character - We seek to live our lives with holiness before God, committing to his ways both publicly and privately.

Unity - We are a team who wins together and loses together. Each team member is vital to our mission, so we foster unity by supporting, celebrating and caring for one another.

Excellence - We bring our best to God and to our church family because our God is worthy and our work is important.

Life-Giving - We seek to carry the life of Jesus in all we do, bringing an overflow of joy, celebration, a sense of humour and a faith filled attitude.

Accountability - We are committed to honouring our congregation and each other with accountability, confidentiality and trustworthiness.

The next step within our induction process is to complete safe ministry training online. If you have not already completed this, you will be emailed information on how to complete the training. As a part of the safe ministry training, you will be asked to agree to a formal code of conduct. We believe that if everyone on team is commited to our code of conduct and is seeking to live out the values of our team code, our teams will be great places to serve - effective, fun, full of life and safe for everyone.

Thank you so much for getting this form filled out. Our team will be in touch within the next week to let you know next steps!
