Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus. It is an act of obedience to Jesus (Matthew 28:19) and a public declaration that we have put our faith in Him, died to our old life, and are being raised to new life in Christ (Romans 6:3–4).

Baptism does not save us, but it is an important step in our walk of obedience and a public declaration of our faith.
